Non Surgical Facial Rejuvenation

Non surgical facial rejuvenation uses injectable dermal fillers and anti wrinkle relaxing injections to restore a fresher and younger looking appearance to the face without the need of surgery.

Lines, wrinkles, sagging skin and a dull complexion can be a direct result of the ageing process, as well as sun exposure, smoking and alcohol consumption. As skin begins to lose collagen and elastin, the volume, firmness and hydration diminishes, causing lines, creases and drooping to develop.

DERMAL FILLERS

With good knowledge of facial anatomy, dermal fillers can be injected into multiple layers of the skin and deep tissue to achieve an amazing rejuvenating effect.

Before the filler is administered to the area, a numbing cream may be applied. The filler itself is a smooth gel that contains hyaluronic acid, and when injected into the area of concern, it binds water to produce a lift and give firmness to the treated areas. Wrinkles and creases begin to smooth out and the face becomes more defined.

Fillers can help smooth out the natural appearance of facial lines, including the eye lines (crow’s feet), tear-troughs (under-eye furrows), frown lines, the nasolabial folds (cheek creases), marionette lines (coming down from the mouth), lip (smoker) lines, augment the lips, cheeks and jawline.

The face is the main focal point of a person’s appearance, and those who are affected by ageing facial features can often feel self-conscious about their looks. Fillers can achieve a naturally brighter, tighter, firmer-looking appearance, boosting self-esteem.

ANTI WRINKLE INJECTIONS

Anti wrinkle injections have been used safely to treat facial wrinkles for several decades. They can be successfully used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles around the eyes (crow’s feet) and between the eyebrows (frown lines), or on the nose (bunny lines). They are also commonly injected around the mouth (smokers lines), neck and jawline.

When injected into certain facial muscles, the active ingredient blocks the muscular nerve signals, which then weakens the muscle so that it cannot contract, and by doing that reduces unwanted wrinkles and lines. The muscle weakness begins at 24 – 48 hours, with full effect at 7 – 14 days after injection. The effects of the initial injection lasts between 4 and 6 months for most people.

Frequently asked questions

This treatment is likely to be suitable for you if you are wishing to restore a more rested and youthful look to your facial features that are affected by lines, wrinkles or sagging skin. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or undergoing IVF, then this treatment may not be for you.

This is a safe treatment that uses only the highest quality, approved products. Non surgical rejuvenation is a popular procedure that is performed frequently, worldwide.

This treatment may trigger a little sensitivity with a stinging sensation at the point of injection. To alleviate any discomfort caused, the application of a numbing cream before the treatment begins may be advisable.

Following the procedure there may be some minimal redness in the treated areas. Some slight swelling and tenderness may be experienced after treatment, but will ease after a short period. Rarely, there may also be a little bruising where the injections were administered but these will fade within a few days and can be concealed with make-up if need be.

Special complications particular to dermal fillers include a risk of allergic reaction to the fillers, lumpiness, contour irregularities and asymmetry. If you usually experience cold sores, then there may be a recurrence of them after the treatment, although the chance of this happening can be minimised using antiviral medicines.

It is very rare to have an allergic reaction to wrinkle relaxing injections. Occasionally it may spread to involve the muscles of the face that were not intended to be the target, which may cause temporary drooping of the eyelid. This will generally subside within 2-3 weeks.

This procedure requires little or no downtime. You can go home immediately after your treatment and even return to work the same day. It will not interfere with your daily activities,  however it is advisable to avoid sports for 48 hours to allow swelling to settle.
